The New Right in South Korea

Re: A New Group, Protecting Traditional Values, Is Rising

The headline implies that this new group is traditionalist or paleoconservative, which it is not. It "supports the values of liberalism and the market economy" and is the South Korean equivalent of neoconservatives. In fact, the group is comprised of members of the so-called "386 Generation" of those who were student protesters against military-rule in the 1980s.
