Back from the Hills
The Snyders of Pohang are back from Uljin. We were able to see more of the county on this trip. I'd have to say it's the most pristine region of Korea to which I've yet been. Its farms and villages are better kept than those of most of rural Korea. The countryside is extremely attractive.

The object of a travel was a trip back to the Deokgu Spa (덕구온천관광호텔):
Afterwards, we had a meal at a nearby country restaurant, with some of the best doenjangjjigae I've ever had. It was so good, we returned the next morning for breakfast. We stayed the "Gusugok Natural Rest-Forest" (구수곡자연휴양림), in this very cabin:
We visited Songnyugul Cave and a beautifully located Buddhist temple named Bulyeongsa (불영사), set next to a pond in a stunning valley of the same name:
Perhaps it is that Uljin is far from any cities and highways. Whatever the reason, it's a truly beautiful place on this earth.
